Thoracic Surgery

Thoracic surgery is a medical specialty that deals with the surgical treatment of diseases affecting the lungs, airways, chest wall, and the mediastinum (the area between the two lungs). In this field, the diagnosis and treatment of conditions such as lung cancer, pneumonia-related complications, pleural diseases, rib fractures, and some congenital anomalies are performed. Thanks to modern techniques, many procedures can be performed using closed (minimally invasive) methods, which contributes to faster patient recovery.
